How to Buy Lawn Suits Online in Pakistan: Fabric, Fit and Fake-Proof Tips
Thread count, dupatta fabric, unstitched vs stitched and what the photos are not telling you — a practical checklist for buying lawn online without regret.

Every summer the same thing happens: a new lawn collection launches, the photos look stunning, and a week later half the WhatsApp group is complaining that the fabric arrived thinner, the print duller or the dupatta shorter than expected. Most of that disappointment is avoidable. Here is the checklist we use when reviewing lawn listings on Stylica.
1. Know what "lawn" should feel like
Good lawn is a fine, plain-weave cotton that is light but not see-through. Hold the shirt piece up to a window: you should see light through it, not the shape of the window frame. Premium lawn is often described as combed (shorter fibres removed, so it is smoother) or by thread count. Anything that feels crisp and plasticky is usually a poly blend.
When a listing does not say "100% cotton" or "combed lawn", ask the boutique. On Stylica you can do that from the product page before you buy.
2. Check every piece in a 3-piece
A standard unstitched 3-piece includes:
- Shirt: usually 2.5 to 3 metres, sometimes with a separate embroidered front or neckline patch.
- Dupatta: 2.25 to 2.5 metres — chiffon, organza, silk or lawn.
- Trouser: 2 to 2.5 metres of dyed cambric or lawn.
If a "3-piece" lists a much shorter dupatta, or a trouser fabric that is not named at all, that is where the price was cut.
3. Stitched or unstitched?
Unstitched lawn is fabric for your own tailor, so the fit is completely yours. It is cheaper and lets you choose the cut. Ready-to-wear kurtis save time and are perfect for office wear, but check the size chart — Pakistani pret sizes vary between brands by up to two inches at the chest.
Our size guide on each stitched product lists measurements in inches, not just S, M and L.
4. Read the photo, not just the model
Studio lighting can make any print glow. Look for:
- A flat photo of the fabric, not only a styled shot.
- A close-up of the embroidery, so you can see whether it is machine resham, hand work or a print made to look like embroidery.
- The colour name in the description. "Teal" and "sea green" can be very different in daylight.
5. Pay on delivery and inspect
The safest way to buy fabric online in Pakistan is still Cash on Delivery. Every order on Stylica is COD, so you see the parcel before any money changes hands. Delivery is PKR 150 within Multan and PKR 250 elsewhere, and in-stock items usually arrive in 2–5 working days.
If something is wrong, you can request an exchange or refund within 7 days of delivery from your account, as long as the fabric is unused and the tags are attached. Our buyer protection page explains exactly how disputes are handled.
6. Wash it right the first time
Wash new lawn separately in cold water with mild detergent, inside out, and dry it in the shade. Iron on medium heat while it is slightly damp. Dark prints may bleed a little in the first wash — that is normal for natural dyes and stops after one or two washes.
