Meet Ali Hamza: The Multan Engineer Who Built Stylica

Stylica did not start in a boardroom. It started in Multan, with a simple question: why is it so hard to buy from a good local boutique online, and so hard for that boutique to sell beyond its own street?

Who is Ali Hamza?

Ali Hamza is the founder and lead engineer of Stylica. He is a BS Computer Science student at the University of Southern Punjab, Multan (2022–2026), and Stylica is his Final Year Design Project — built not as a demo, but as a real marketplace running on a live website and an Android app.

He leads the backend: the server that confirms every price, keeps every order honest and pays every seller. His teammate Syed Muhammad Hussain builds the web and mobile interface, and the project is supervised by Ma'am Sadia Zulfiqar.

Why he built Stylica

South Punjab is full of skilled people — weavers, embroiderers, khussa makers, jewellers — who mostly sell through middlemen or social-media pages. Shoppers like their work but hesitate to send money to a page they do not know, and a small boutique has no way to prove it is genuine.

Ali's idea was to fix both sides at once:

  • For shoppers: pay only when the parcel arrives (Cash on Delivery), see real prices in rupees, read reviews that only real buyers can write, and get help from a team when something goes wrong.
  • For boutiques: a proper storefront, buyers from all over Pakistan, a clear commission, and payouts to their own verified bank account — without building a website.

You can read how this works for buyers in How to spot a genuine seller, and for boutiques in Selling on Stylica.

What "built properly" means to him

Ali's rule for Stylica is simple: what the app shows must be what the server enforces. The total you confirm at checkout is calculated by Stylica, not by your phone. Stock is reserved the moment you order, so two people cannot buy the last piece. A seller's earnings are released only after delivery, and every admin decision is recorded. The technical story is in Building Stylica.

What Stylica promises

  • Every seller is checked before selling, and the Verified seller badge means that check is complete.
  • Cash on Delivery everywhere, and no seller may ask you to pay outside Stylica.
  • Returns within 7 days of delivery under the Return & refund policy.
  • Order messages with the boutique, address changes before dispatch, and a Report a problem button that reaches the Stylica team.
